About
The University Ski Club Mt Buller Lodge is ideally situated close to the centre of the village. It provides easy access to the Blue Bullet lift and to Bull Run and Chamois lifts via the Canyon rope tow and Standard. The free village shuttle bus also stops In front of the lodge (stop no. 6). Please see the Buller Village Map. USC is located at Grid Reference R8, 9 The Avenue, Mt Buller.
The lodge is divided into two sections East and West. Both sections are self-contained and have their own drying room, ski/board storage, kitchen and lounge. The East Wing (on the left as you come in the front door) provides about 25 beds while the West Wing provides about 50. However, during the season, we all join together in the West Wing for Club dinner on Saturday nights.
Bedrooms are “bunk” style in a variety of double, twin and 4 or 6 room configurations. Room allocation is by the booking officer and guests are requested not to change their allocated room. There are several male and female toilets throughout the lodge as well as individual shower units close to the bedrooms.
The current lodge was completed in 1986 but has received several upgrades since to improve the comfort for guests.

Layout
The club has been built over a period of time and is also on various levels. As such there are 2 main wings. On the West wing there are 2 floors which contain what we refer to as the family rooms. There are 8 rooms that accommodate families of 5 or more. There are 4 showers and 2 toilet facilities on each floor. On the next level which covers most of the East Wing there are 15 more bedrooms which accommodate 2, 3 and 4 person groups. These areas are all accessed via s series of staircases which in turn all lead to the common room areas (dining rooms, lounge rooms and kitchens).
Common Areas
The club has 2 lounge rooms – one with an open fire and the other with a gas fire. There is a TV lounge in the East Wing and a 20 seat theatre in the lower part of the club. The club also has a pool table room which also has a TV mounted on the wall.
Bathroom and Shower
There are 15 shower rooms and 9 bathrooms. They are all unisex with lockable cubicles. The showers are wall mounted and can be used as a handheld. All female bathroom areas have hair dryers.
Accessibility
The Lodge at Mt Buller has been built over a number of years and has 3 levels and multiple stairways – it is not suitable for wheelchair bound persons.
Kitchen and Pantry
The club has 2 commercial kitchen which are fully kitted out with gas ovens, microwave ovens, refrigerators, coffee machines, and a good range of dry foods. The club also provides fruit, vegetables and bread products.
Storage
The club has a number of clothes lockers and ski lockers which maybe negotiated with the club booking officer. There is a high demand for these valuable assets. The Club has 2 drying rooms, 2 ski storage rooms located in the entrance to the club. These facilities are not monitored by the club and all possessions left in these areas are the responsibility of the owners.
Parking
The Club has 6 roadside parking spaces available and these need to be negotiated with the Committee for allocation. Another oprtion that is available is to purchase a Village Access pass which allows you to drive to the club, unload your personal possessions and then park your vehicle at the overnight car parks as allocated and get a taxi back to the club. The other option is to purchase an overnight car park and then get a taxi from the car park with your possessions.
What to Bring
USC lodges operate on a cooperative basis and everyone’s input is essential. The party leader will allocate small tasks for you to complete during your stay such as cleaning showers or emptying the rubbish bins. Please do your best to complete these small tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the lodge.
